Norfolk Tank Museum’s Armourfest back with a bang as thousands attend

Thousands of people were treated to an all-action living history display covering multiple eras at Norfolk Tank Museum over the weekend.

Armourfest, which has been running for more than a decade, wowed visitors and delighted families and history enthusiasts who had flocked from across the country.

“It’s growing each year, which is great to see,” said chairman and curator of the tank museum.

“We must have had 1,500 visitors on the Sunday and around 1,000 on the Saturday.

“We had lovely weather too, although a storm on the Friday evening did make the parking area a bit muddy, so we thank guests for their understanding over that.

“The support we’ve had from all the guests who attended has been fantastic, as has the support of our living history groups, vehicle enthusiasts who displayed their vehicles and all our volunteers.

“We had so much on offer, including a medieval village, sword fighting, Napoleonic soldiers, bomb disposal equipment and a mock tank battle.

“Each year we keep getting bigger and better, and we had a special M4 Sherman Tank as our special guest vehicle this year.”

The event also had Centurion and Chieftan tanks on display, along with a world war one tank, jeeps and other vehicles.
